Move on Up - Blues dance workshop - 17th April 2016

MOVE on UP – Let’s get REAL about the BLUES!

If you've tried dropping Blues Shapes and Styling into other Dance Styles, or have already been playing with ‘Contemporary Blues’ dancing, and are now ready to Move on Up to some original style Blues Dancing, then this is the Workshop for you…

We’ll be looking at how to maintain and exploit connection and communication techniques to improvise as a partnership with style and confidence to a wide range of music – not just the slower ‘expressive’ numbers…

Also ideal for those who have never tried Blues Dancing before, or who have little idea yet of what’s really involved – expect to join a joyous celebration of movement – REAL Blues it IS, but miserable it AIN’T!!

Mandy and Basil – the Island Dance Wizards – have over 40 years of full time professional teaching experience between them. They teach in a variety of social partner styles, but specialise in Tango, Blues and Tango/Blues Fusion, and were the first UK teaching couple to offer dancers a choice of weekly lessons in all of these styles concurrently. They strongly believe that connection is the cornerstone of leading and following ability in all styles, but that this can only be established on the foundation of the highest possible technique – this principle underlies all of their Dance Teaching.
